NSBE Jr. (National Society of Black Engineers Junior) is a dynamic program dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of Black engineers and STEM leaders. It offers young students access to resources, mentorship, and hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math, fostering a passion for these fields and helping them build a strong foundation for future success.
We had the privilege of attending NSBE's 49th anniversary in Chicago and their 50th in Atlanta. There, we met NSBE founders, college NSBE members, and NSBE Jr. chapters from other states. These events were not only fun and productive but also fantastic for networking. We are eagerly looking forward to the 51st anniversary in Chicago.

My colleagues and I embarked on an exciting journey to create the first NSBE Jr. chapter in Oakland County, Michigan. Driven by the vision to empower young Black students in our community, we brought together a diverse group of passionate individuals. We reached out to local schools, engaged with community leaders, and organized engaging STEM events that sparked curiosity and excitement. Our collective effort and determination paid off as we successfully launched the chapter, providing a vibrant platform for students to explore their potential, develop essential skills, and connect with mentors and peers who share their dreams of becoming future engineers and innovators. In an anonymous vote, my colleagues elected me as president of our Oakland County NSBE Jr., a role I am honored to hold as we continue to inspire and support our community".
